How to Get Ahead at Work.

The main video is mostly about body-language and how we present ourselves to others. The message I take from everything I have studied (in this field) is that recognition is a two-way process. To be taken seriously we need to take others seriously. To be recognised we must recognise the contributions of others. Above all we need to have a real sense of who we are and what we have to offer. To this end -
- Make sure you have a realistic understanding of your abilities and achievements.
- Make sure the abilities you have to offer are seen as valuable within your organisation.
- Make sure your need for recognition is proportional.
