Mission Statement

​Robert Townsend in his book 'Up The Organisation' refers to the Greek/Roman god Hercules killing Augeas after Augeas had demeaned him by forcing him to clean out the Augean stables.
This is a reference to the 12 labours of Hercules. It's probably more to do with Augeas going back on his word but I liked the idea that a mission statement should avoid humiliating those tasked to deliver it.
