  • Stay centred and focus on things you can control:  You control your emotional response to everything around us.

  • Become aware:  You need to know what triggers your negative emotions before you can work out the triggers of others.
  • Be truthful not hateful. Speak your truths consistently and without being combative or aggressive:  Accept and modulate your emotional responses.  
  • Listen to the truths of others without being combative:  They are (within limits) entitled to their truths.
  • Avoid belligerent people:  You will find no emotional intelligence.
  • Be sceptical, there are personal and professional tricksters:  Emotional intelligence can be perverted by the view that faking sincerity is a pathway to success.  Think 'first impressions' from the video.
  • Use your years of experience wisely:  Be sceptical without becoming cynical.
  • Recognise when you are tired and need a break:  Inappropriate emotional responses often come when we are tired.  
  • BE HAPPY:  Act Happy - Become Happy.
